I asked Mike Rhodes about that clip ('cause I was pretty sure he was working on the Gzowski show then - he was) and this is what he had to say...
Yeah, in fact I was there that night, I met Iggy and mentioned it to him the night we met Iggy and he remembered it. The real reason that the band didn't get to play was because of problems with the British Musicians Union and the AFM, they refused their keyboardist who happened to be David Bowie, I met him too that night. Yeah that is an infamous piece John Martin booked Iggy Pop for that show.( Did he get shit for that after the interview)
